Synopsis

The profound social, territorial, technological, cultural, and environmental transformations characterizing contemporary societies pose new challenges for schools and, in particular, for teachers. In a context marked by growing socio-spatial inequalities, successive curricular changes, the intensified use of digital technologies, and increased demands on the teaching profession, the training of Geography teachers takes on renewed importance. More than simply ensuring mastery of the discipline’s scientific and pedagogical aspects, teacher training today entails preparing professionals capable of critically interpreting territory, understanding the complexity of contemporary phenomena, and developing educational practices committed to citizenship, inclusion, and social transformation.
