Synopsis

This is a book to be read and enjoyed. Yes, knowledge and taste go hand in hand, in the pleasure of reading! The narrative pages and photographs present the city of Sobral in various circumstances of its social reality, such as: cultural events, work in factories, festivities. It is important to learn about the history of Sobral through the experiences of its inhabitants, especially the experiences of former workers of the Ernesto Deocleciano Spinning and Weaving Company (CFTED).
Sobral is a medium-sized city located 225 km from Fortaleza/Ceará. Part of its urban center has been listed by IPHAN as a National Historic Heritage site since 1999. The record of local history can be seen beyond architectural buildings and be composed of the experiences and social practices of its residents, because we know that history is plural and the oral accounts of the life experiences of ordinary people show that there are not only versions of kings, queens, politicians and heroes.
