Synopsis

Starting the Camocinense History Series, the first volume of volume 1 brings an overview of the memories of almost 20 years of music festivals held in the “land of the pot”. Francisco da Paz Pessoa (Sílvio Paz) and Carlos Augusto Pereira dos Santos tell how these events marked an era and revealed different talents.

Author Biographies

Francisco da Paz Pessoa, Secretaria de Educação - Camocim-CE

Born in Farias, Araioses, Maranhão, to Francisco das Chagas Pesssoa and Adelaide Justino da Paz. He holds a degree in Pedagogy and a degree in History from the State University of Vale do Acaraú/UVA/PARFOR. Teacher in the municipal education network since 1992, always teaching in Fundamental I, in rural zone I, in the region of Boqueirões and Flamengas. As of 2014, he starts working at the headquarters, at the EEF Francisco Ottoni Coelho school, Bairro Boa Esperança, Camocim.
Even as a resident of Boqueirão dos Dourados since he was a child, he has always been passionate about art and popular and grassroots culture, and has developed projects in the area several times, either with students or in the community in general. Despite teaching classes, he is shy, but enjoys writing and producing texts, poetry, poems, cordel and composing songs, with some recorded by local artists. He won the Salão de Artes in 2014 in the poetry category, with the poem “Meu Rio, Meu lar”, in addition to several participations in Music Festivals in Camocim. He was one of the creators of the folk group Guerreiros do Boqueirão and Banda da Lua.

Carlos Augusto Pereira dos Santos, Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú - UVA

Adjunct Professor of the History Course at the State University Vale do Acaraú – UVA. Graduated in Social Studies and History from UVA (1990 and 2015). Master in Social History from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro-UFRJ (2000) and PhD in History of the North and Northeast of Brazil from the Federal University of Pernambuco-UFPE (2008), postdoctoral degree in Cultural Studies from the Advanced Program of Contemporary Culture PACC /UFRJ (2016). Author of several books on local history, especially on the themes of everyday life, culture, work history and workers.
