Synopsis

On the Margins - Ceno-Poetic-Slam Creation appears on the banks of the Acaraú River, where life and art intertwine, promoting unique encounters and movements. This project, born from the desire to explore the limits between words and performance, between marginal literature and the scene, aims to weave stories that echo marginalized voices, without omitting the unique context of Sobral, where metaphor and reality intertwine.

Maria Thais, also known as Thay, I am an artist born and raised in Bairro Dom José in Sobral, CE. My involvement with art began at school, where she participated in activities such as theater, ballet and choir, programs that existed in the public school system. At SAFS, an NGO in my neighborhood, I had my first contact with cultural production, photography, crafts and percussion, opening paths for my artistic development. Currently, I am a poet, slammer, percussion lover, cultural producer and law student. I organize Slam das Cumadi, the first spoken word poetry competition for women in Ceará and I am part of Coletivo Fora da Métrica, contributing to the organization of Slam da Quentura and Slam Ceará.

She began her career at the age of 13 at the Slam das Cumadi, being the “youngest” of the poets, and also in the rhyme battles spread throughout the city. She participated in workshops and soirees held by the Sobral Slam poetry scene. She was also a student in the 3rd class of the production of the outskirts held in 2023, the year in which she also won the final of the Slam da Quentura and was its representative at Slam Ceará, coming out with first place and the immensity of representing our “little princess of the north”. Flow defines herself from her experiences and I don't give up on that.

LK

Hi! I'm LK, I participate in rhyme battles and I'm 17 years old, I also write poetry, lk_damidia57 on my Instagram slg, There you go!

Rêh

I'm Rêh, an independent artist, 27 years old, a Sagittarius, always in the middle of the fire, the flame. I practice juggling, more specifically, the Devil Stick. I started getting involved with the art of juggling between 2014/2015. I'm one of the organizers of Batalha da Margi, and I'm currently leading the Quentura battle, the Quentura Slam, together with the Fora da Métrica collective. I've been involved with poetry since elementary school. I've always liked reading poems and poetry, until I started writing about myself, my feelings and my fears, as a way of letting off steam, but I never intended to show it to anyone, because it's always been a very intimate thing. So time passed and, at a time when I was very vulnerable, in a not so good phase, I saw a different movement in the arch, a poetry circle, where I heard poems that touched me, and it was there, in 2018/2019, that I got to know the SLAM scene through Slam da Quentura, and it was there that I felt comfortable putting out a part of me that had always been hidden.

MM MC

My name is Carlos, known on the streets as MM, battle MC and poet since I was 16, starting my journey on 07/15/2019 at Batalha da EJ, where I managed to conquer my space and start my story directly in the hip-hop universe.

Rayssa Kelle

Rayssa, 25 years old, is a poet, writer and composer born and raised in the outskirts of Sobral. Graduated in the 3rd class of the Produção de Perifa course, she combines her experience and sensitivity in her works.

Sanoj

I am Sanoj, also known as the King of the Dance, a resident of the outskirts of the city. I am in my early twenties. Although I am small, I am the opposite of your perception. I am a poet at his worst. I come through this message to convey what I feel and I try to echo through my fingers everything that hurts where the flesh does not feel. I write for myself, for you and always for us!

Sra. Preta

Mrs. Preta, 21 years old. Black woman from the outskirts, singer, poet, slammer, mother, Umbanda follower. Her main style is rap and its offshoots and brings interpretations in different poems and musical genres.
