Synopsis

The text resulting from this work is a portion of the research effort that has been building for more than a decade of studies. After joining the Vale do Acaraú State University – UVA in 1994, which Prof. CARLOS AUGUSTO PEREIRA DOS SANTOS prioritized research on our municipality. From the Specialization Course in Theory and Methodology of History, held in 1996 in Sobral, through the Master's in Social History at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Federal University of Ceará and, now culminating with the Doctorate in History of the North and Northeast at Federal University of Pernambuco, which Camocim is the focus of our work.

Author Biography

Carlos Augusto Pereira dos Santos, Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú - UVA

Adjunct Professor of the History Course at Vale do Acaraú State University – UVA. Graduated in Social Studies and History from UVA (1990 and 2015). Master in Social History from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro-UFRJ (2000) and PhD in History of the North and Northeast of Brazil from the Federal University of Pernambuco-UFPE (2008), post-doctorate in Cultural Studies from the Advanced Program of Contemporary Culture PACC /UFRJ (2016). Author of several books on local history, especially on the themes of daily life, culture, labor history and workers. He is a member of the Camocim Historians Collective.
