Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published.
  • The submission file is in the Microsoft Word, RTF, or OpenDocument file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Press.

Author Guidelines

All texts submitted for evaluation and budget for publication must follow the following formatting rules:
 
- Language: articles may be submitted in Portuguese, English or Spanish.
- All texts will undergo an evaluation process by the SertãoCult Editorial Board, which may award the results “approved for publication”, “rejected for publication” and “approved for publication with reservations” (in this case, the author may make the corrections requested by the reviewers).
- Title: in the case of academic works, only the first letter of the sentence (and proper nouns) in capital letters, centered, bold, Times New Roman font, size 12, with no spacing between lines, keeping the title alone on the first line of the file.
- Subtitle (if applicable): in the case of academic works, only the first letter of the sentence (and proper nouns) in capital letters, centered, Times New Roman font, size 12, with no spacing between lines, using the second line of the file. - Author(s) name(s): only the first letter of each name in capital letters with a mini CV of up to 10 lines.
- The texts must be written in accordance with the following specifications:
Page size: A4.
Font type: Time New Roman or Arial.
Font size: 12;
Line spacing: 1.5;
Paragraphs: 1.25cm;
Margins: top and left (3cm) and bottom and right (2cm). Other definitions, regarding citations and references, must follow the most recent ABNT standards;
Section titles: should not be numbered and should be in bold font size 12.
Images, graphs or tables, illustrations: must be in the body of the text and in good resolution for viewing on screen, and must also contain the appropriate captions and font size 10, immediately below each one. In the case of insertion of images, the responsibility for procedures related to reproduction rights will be exclusively of the authors.
Images must also be sent in jpg format, in separate files.
Quotes with up to 3 lines must be incorporated into the text. Quotes over 3 lines must be indented 4cm, size 10.
Footnotes, explanatory only, must be in size 10 and numbered in sequence.
References: must comply with current ABNT standards.
