Synopsis

The diversity of themes gathered in this book has the broad and emerging purpose of problematizing a geographic education that can develop critical and reflective thinking in teacher education and contribute to a teaching of Geography that develops a polyhedral look at our worlds – developing innovative perspectives and methodologies, contributing to a democratic, citizen and inclusive education, which articulates university and school, in a 21st century built of challenges for which Geography has to mobilize, that is, for which we have to mobilize.

Author Biographies

Glauciana Alves Teles, Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA)

Doctor and Master in Human Geography by the Graduate Program in Geography at the State University of Ceará/UECE. She is currently a professor in the Geography course at the Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú / UVA and a permanent professor in the Graduate Program in Geography-Academic Masters at UVA. She coordinates the Geography, Teaching and Teacher Training research group (DGP / CNPq), the Geography Research and Teaching Laboratory (LAPEGEO) and the Geography Subproject in the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships-PIBID (2020-2022) .

PhD in Human Geography from the University of Lisbon. Master in Human Geography and Regional and Local Planning from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon, Degree in Geography from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon. Post Doctor in Geography from the Federal University of Ceará/UFC, Doctor in Geography from the University of São Paulo/USP and Master in Geography from the University of Uberlândia/UFU (MG). He is an associate professor of the Geography course. He is currently a Permanent Professor and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Geography (Academic Master's Degree) – MAG at the State University of Vale do Acaraú/UVA. He coordinates the Semi-Arid Research and Extension Laboratory and the Research Group: Research and Extension in the Semi-Arid Region (DGP / CNPq) and is a member of the Research Chamber of the Pro-Rectory of Graduate Studies and Research at UVA.
