Synopsis

This book is the result of reflections on Geographic Education and Geography Teacher Training in Brazil and Portugal, and is a bibliographic production of the II National Seminar on Geographic Education, Teacher Training and Teaching Methodologies. This event was held in April 2023, with the support of the Postgraduate Program in Geography (Propgeo), and organized by the Geography Research and Teaching Laboratory (Lapegeo) of the Vale do Acaraú State University (UVA), with Professor Dr. Glauciana Alves Teles as general coordinator. It is worth mentioning the important support for the event from the Support Program for Events in the Country (Paep), of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), notice 06/2022, which made it possible for professors from higher education institutions in Brazil, such as the states of Ceará, Paraíba and Espírito Santo, and abroad, such as Lisbon, Portugal, to attend.

Universidad Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA) - Doctorado y Máster en Geografía Humana por el Programa de Postgrado en Geografía de la Universidad Estadual de Ceará (PROPGEO) de la UECE. Actualmente es profesora del curso de Geografía de la Universidad Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA) y Coordinadora del Programa de Posgrado en Geografía - Maestría Académica (PROPGEO) de la UVA. También coordina el grupo de investigación Geografía, Docencia y Formación Docente (DGP/CNPq), el Laboratorio de Investigación y Docencia en Geografía (LAPEGEO) y el Proyecto ¡Proponemos! Educación Geográfica, Innovación y Ciudadanía Geográfica en la UVA.

José Falcão Sobrinho, Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA)

Vale do Acaraú State University (UVA) - Post-Doctorate in Geography from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), PhD in Geography from the University of São Paulo (USP) and Master in Geography from the University of Uberlândia (UFU). He is an Associate Professor of the Geography course and Permanent Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Geography - Academic Master's Degree (PROPGEO) at UVA. He coordinates the Semi-Arid Research and Extension Laboratory (LAPESI) and the Semi-Arid Research and Extension Network (RPESA).

Assistant Professor at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon (IGOT-UL) and Principal Researcher at the Center for Geographical Studies (CEG-UL). Creator and national and international coordinator of the project Nós Propomos! Citizenship and Innovation in Geographical Education.
