Synopsis

Society and geographic space in Brazil, since the 1970s, are reproduced and constituted, in an accelerated way, by technological mediations, scientific knowledge and the information necessary for knowledge of the world, organization and functioning of things .

With the advent of the period and the technical-scientific-information environment, especially the advances in geotechnologies, brought several innovations, generating, at the same time, a series of human and social, academic, political and economic demands for georeferenced data and information, associated to the accelerated growth of the modifications that permeate the geographic space, object of study of Geography.
