Synopsis

Children, young people and adults gathered in this work have something in common: the love of the written word. Members of the Academia Groairense de Letras (AGL) and the Academia Forquilhense de Letras e Artes (AFLA) joined together with several guests from the most diverse backgrounds and experiences to compose this work.

There are short stories, chronicles, poems, a variety of texts that bring the most beautiful messages that will certainly bring the reader the purest delight, letting the most noble feelings come to the surface. Read them in moderation, without rushing, taking advantage of the breaks in your daily life.

Author Biographies

Edna Maria Mendes Rodrigues

The academic has a degree in Pedagogy, Specialist in Portuguese Language and Its Literatures, Elementary Education Methodology, Management and Assessment and Special Education, Inclusive Education, Institutional and Clinical Neuropsychopedagogy and a Master in Philosophy. The writer is a poet, short story writer, anthologist and is part of the Movimento Literocultural column of AGL and AFLA of Revista Atração. As a teacher, she serves as pedagogical coordinator of the Ceará State Education Network and is a member of the Academia Groairense de Letras (AGL) and the Academia Forquilhense de Letras e Artes (AFLA) as a founding member and president. His published works are: Ao Inverso: from Academia à Poesia; Groaíras, the Grogró of Mel and Magic and Reality – Modern Tales.

Lúcia Paula Matos Ximenes

The academic was born in Sobral, on October 31, 1975. She lived until she was 9 years old in the town of Córrego dos Matos and, later, in the District of Itamaracá. The firstborn of four siblings, her parents are José Gildo Matos Lopes and Maria da Conceição Matos. Married to Jeová Rodrigues Ximenes. Graduated in Pedagogy, graduated in School Management and also Special Education. Teacher in the public school system in the municipalities of Cariré and Groaíras. Effective founding member of the Academia Groairense de Letras – AGL, occupying chair number 9.

Raimundo Evandro Ximenes Martins

Member of AGL, born on Fazenda Malhada D’areia, Groaíras-CE. He lived until early adulthood in a rustic environment, listening to folk stories, using them in his second book, “A Aventura de Samael na Terra dos Três Rios”. “Atheism within a Plural Legal Order”, his first book, argues that social life does not become without value or meaning by discarding belief in deities, it derives from knowledge in law and philosophy.

Adauto de Albuquerque Melo

The academic was born on June 27, 1940, at Fazenda Muriçoca, rural area of Groaíras. Son of Francisco Cassemiro de Albuquerque and Maria do Nazaré de Melo. He married Maria Alves da Mota in 1966, at the age of 26. From their marriage, they had 8 children. Adauto was a corporal in the Brazilian Army, where he received an Exemplary Certificate of Conduct. He entered political life in 1966, having been a councilor for two terms and vice-mayor for three terms. On February 6, 2001, his wife died, leaving him a widower. In 2017 he entered the Academia Groairense de Letras.

Antenor Gonçalves Fernandes

Poet, writer, Captain of the Brazilian Army, graduated in Dentistry, son of Antônio Gonçalves Rosa and Izaura Fernandes Rosa, born in Cariré-CE. Husband, widower of Maria Amélia A. Fernandes, to whom he was married for 66 years. In 2016, he published his book Memórias and is in the process of publishing 3 more works: Memórias II, O Variante and o Variante II. Father of 5 children, grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. He joined the Academia Groairense de Letras – AGL in 2017, where he occupies the chair of N ° 02, as a corresponding member from Rio de Janeiro. He is currently residing in Recife-PE.

Augusto Kays Ximenes Matos

The academic was born in Sobral on November 12, 1986. Son of Lucilene Ximenes Matos and Manoel Sebastião Ximenes. He lived in the towns of Pará, Córrego dos Matos and later in Poço das Pedras. In the latter place, the family stayed until the beginning of the 90s, eventually settling in the city headquarters. It was in this context of the city that he began his work and studies. He graduated in Philosophy from Universidade Vale do Acaraú (UVA) in 2004. In 2010 he was approved for the Psychology course at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). He is the owner of Lojas Princesa and an Effective Member of AGL (Academia Groairense de Letras).

Augusto Martins Melo

The academic is a Historian, Specialist in Development with the Environment and in Theory and Methodology of History; Lawyer: Specialist in Social Security Law and Labor Law and Process; Former councilor, 2005/2008; Former Secretary of Infrastructure of Groaíras, 2009/2012; First Prosecutor of the Basic Education Secretariat of Groaíras-CE, 2017/2020; Author of the Statute of Public Servants of the Municipality of Groaíras-CE, 2018; Amateur musician: former member of the city's first music band, Banda Manoel Machado Araújo. AGL Academic, Chair 06; First general secretary of AGL; One of the co-authors of “Groaíras Nosso Pedacinho de Chão”, 2017, a work led by the late Raimundo Nonato Ximenes.

Conrado José Neto Aragão

The academic is a Brazilian composer, singer and poet. He was born at Fazenda Amazonas, in Forquilha-Ceará, on October 19, 1959. He is the son of Joaquim Conrado Aragão and Francisca Gomes de Loiola. He is an Industrial Technician; Occupational Medicine and Safety. As an Effective Member of the Academia Forquilhense de Letras e Artes – AFLA, he composed the “Official Anthem of AFLA” to music. In 2020 he released his first Album on the Spotify Platform. He publishes new compositions monthly in Revista Atação.

Esmeralda Costa da Silva

The academic is a teacher, writer and cordelist poet. Postgraduate in Portuguese Language and Brazilian and African Literature (URC and graduated in Literature/Portuguese (UESPI). Teaches Portuguese language in 8th and 9th year classes in the municipal network Campos Sales (CE). Received the title of citizen of Groairense on October 7, 2021. Author of the Cordel Brasileiro column on the Virtual Facetubes platform. Corresponding member of AGL - Academia Groairense de Letras.

Evoneida Paiva Mendes

The academic was born in Salgado dos Mendes, Forquilha-CE, on August 13, 1967. She is the daughter of Luís Ferreira Paiva and Maria Ivoneides Paiva. She is the General Secretary of the Academia Forquilhense de Letras e Artes (AFLA). Graduated in Pedagogy; Portuguese and English; Specialist in Elementary and Secondary Education Methodologies; Management, Planning, Evaluation and School Supervision. She held a public position (1986-2022), as Professor. Thus, she performed, among other functions, School Management and Course Completion Work Guidance (TCC).

Francisca Cilene Ximenes Maciel

The academic is the daughter of Raimundo Martins Maciel and Maria do Socorro Ximenes Maciel, she has 3 brothers: Francisco, Batista and Sérgio, she married Fco. Edvandro Aragão Melo, had 2 children (Fco. Kauan and Fco. Natan). She studied in public schools in the municipality, studied History, held various positions, such as: Endemic Diseases Agent, Administrative Agent at the Health Department, graduated from the Nursing Assistant Course, Elementary School Teacher in some schools in the municipality, Teacher and coordinator of the Carlos Jereissati School, in Sobral, High School Teacher at the Monsenhor Linhares School and member of the AGL. Through her work she became aware of social problems in various localities and acquired the desire to help people, entering public life in 2012 as a candidate for councilor, she was unsuccessful and tried again in 2016, winning; she was re-elected in 2020, being the only woman in this period to be part of the legislature. She became President of the City Council in 2023, exercising with humility, gratitude and respect for the laws the mandate given by the people of Groairense and by God. She is in the process of completing the Nursing Technical Course. It is always possible to dream with faith that better days will come and that we can make a difference every day.

Gilberto Alves Feijão

The academic is from Lagoa das Bestas, in Groaíras–CE, lives at Rua Professor Malaquias, 1031, Centro in Groaíras, graduated in law from UFC in December 1971, is currently a writer, communicator and journalist, academic founder of ASLEJUR – Sobral and AGL – Groaíras and also Advisor to the aforementioned literary entities.

José Joab Aragão

The author was born in the Trapiá district, on March 17, 1945. He holds chair 01 of AFLA and chair 05 of ASEL. Member of the Brazilian Association of Cangaço Studies, in Mossoró, RN. Broadcaster. He maintained weekly columns in Correio da Semana and Folha, in Sobral. Degree in Portuguese Language and Literature. Author of the books Under the Alpendre and Três Riachos, uma Forquilha, in partnership with Jeta Loiola. UVA French Language Course. Professional activities: Central-North Electrification Company of Ceará; General Engineering Services Ltd: Cia. Hidro Elétrica do São Francisco - CHESF; Banco do Brasil S.A.; Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Sobral; Secretariat of Administration and Planning of Forquilha City Hall.

João Avelino Filho

The academic was born on August 26, 1958, businessman, married, resident in Groaíras, Ceará, son of João Avelino de Carvalho and Maria Otília de Jesus. He is a poet, writer, artisan and effective member of the AGL-Academia Groairense de Letras.

José Luís Araújo Lira

The academic is a lawyer, master, doctor, with a post-doctorate in Law; full professor of the Law Course at Vale do Acaraú State University, since 2005, effectively, having taught one semester in 2004 as a substitute. At UVA he is Deputy Director of the Center for Applied Social Sciences and also directs the Museu Diocesano Dom José – Sobral. Founder of the Academia Fortalezense de Letras, Academia Brasileira de Hagiologia, Academia Cearense de Cultura, Academia Sobralense de Letras Jurídicas and the Instituto Histórico e Geográfico de Sobral, of which he is the current President. Commander of the Holy See in the noble and pontifical Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem – Lieutenant of Rio de Janeiro and member of the Culture and Art Commission of the Federal Council of the OAB. He published 29 books.

José Mauro de Oliveira

The academic was born on the Daniel farm, in the municipality of Cariré-CE, on April 20, 1950. Son of Mr. Luiz Gonzaga de Oliveira and Luzia Gonçalves de Oliveira. Married to Telma Sandra de Oliveira. Father of Grayceanni Kelly Oliveira and grandfather of Marcio Cleiton dos Santos Correia Junior and José Mauro de Oliveira Neto. He studied primary school at Escola Paroquial Pio XII de Groaíras-CE. Having taken the courses: junior high and scientific at Colégio Estadual Dom José Tupinambá da Frota, in Sobral-CE. He completed a degree in Social Studies at the Faculty of Teacher Training in Belo Jardim-PE.

Maria Carmelita Melo Maciel

The academic is the daughter of Vicente de Paulo Maciel and Francisca das Chagas Melo Maciel, who today live next to God. She is 58 years old, lives in Groaíras, is the mother of Raquel and Marcília and grandmother of Vitória, Karol and Maria Luiza. She was a civil servant for 30 years and is currently a retired housewife. She was a school literacy teacher and social advisor for the group of elderly people, pregnant women and children and adolescents, through the Social Assistance Secretariat. In October 2017 she joined the Academia Groairense de Letras, occupying chair number 15, due to her love of writing poetry.

Maria da Conceição Ximenes Paiva

Master in Educational Sciences from Word University Ecumenical, Specialist in English and in Management and Administration from Faculdade UNINTA. Graduated in Portuguese-French Literature from the State University of Ceará -UECE. Portuguese language teacher at the state network in the state of Ceará, currently teaching in the municipality of Groaíras, at Escola Integral de Ensino Médio Monsenhor Linhares. Tantão Paiva is an effective member of AGL and author of the book “Mãe de Casa e other memoirs”.

Maria das Graças Monteiro Melo

The academic was born in the village of Daniel, municipality of Cariré-Ceará, on September 2, 1953. Daughter of bricklayer Raimundo Dico Monteiro and housewife Vicentina Monteiro Souza, she studied at Escola Paroquial Pio XII, where she completed elementary school. At Colégio Estadual Dom José Tupinambá da Frota she completed high school. She studied Law at the Federal University of Ceará, where she also completed a master's degree. In 1975, he joined the Labor Court as a Judicial Technician and, also through a public examination, in the labor judiciary in 1989. He rose to the position of labor judge in 2003, having also held the presidency of that same body, among other positions, such as Vice-Presidency of the court, Ombudsman and Director of the Judicial School. She enjoys reading authors from the most diverse literary schools, especially postmodernist writers.

Maria de Nazaré Rocha Ramos dos Prazeres

The academic was born on August 10, 1974, on the Puba farm, Taperuaba, Sobral, Ceará. Only daughter of Moesés Bezerril Rocha and Joaquina Braga Rocha. At the age of five she participated in musical plays at school, and as a teenager she performed in theater performances playing the character “Chiquinha”, on the television program “Chaves”. Graduated and licensed in Pedagogy and Literature, with a postgraduate degree in Special Education, she currently works as a teacher.

Marliza Duarte Maia da Silva

The academic was born in Salgado dos Mendes, district of Forquilha-CE, on December 24, 1956. She has a degree in Pedagogy and a postgraduate degree in Clinical and Institutional Psychopedagogy from FLATED. She is an effective founding member of the Academia Forquilhense de Letras e Artes (AFLA), holder of chair 19. She loves writing chronicles.

Pedro Célio Forte Sampaio

Radio broadcaster, Poet, Composer and Writer, a Caucasian, Fortaleza and Groairense by citizenship title. Member of some Academies and with extensive production in Cordéis and published books, some of which have won awards. Professional working in Radio and Television as a presenter and reporter.

Raimundo Lira Maciel

Brazilian, retired, writer. Son of José Paulino Maciel and Marta Alves Pessoa. He is an effective member of the Academia Groairense de Letras-AGL, occupying chair 23.

Raimundo Nonato Aragão

He is the son of José Conrado Aragão and Amélia Ximenes de Loiola. He is a member of the Academia Forquilhense de Letras e Artes (AFLA), where he holds the position of Honorary President. He occupies chair number 22, whose Patron is Paulo Ximenes Aragão, a Forquilhen native also born on the Amazonas farm. He is a member of the Academia Sobralense de Estudos e Letras (ASEL), where he holds Chair Number 10 and holds the position of Director of Communications. Raimundo Aragão has a degree in Accounting Sciences and a postgraduate degree in Public and Private Management Accounting from Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú. He was a professor at the aforementioned University for two years. He worked at the National Social Security Institute-INPS, Banco do Brasil, CAGECE and was, for eight years, Deputy Secretary of Culture and Tourism of Sobral. For 12 years he maintained a weekly column in the Jornal Correio da Semana, in Sobral. He is the author of the book of chronicles “De Frente para o Norte”, awarded the Milton Dias award in 2011, in Fortaleza.

Raimundo Pedro Justino de Orlanda

Pedro Orlanda is from Ceará, writer, poet, philosopher and teacher. Since 2020, I have had the honor of sharing my poems about love through my book “Amor em Versos”. My goal is to enchant the world and bring more happiness through words. I am a Founding and Effective Academician of the Academia Forquilhense de Letras e Artes (AFLA). Furthermore, I am a member of the Massapeense Academy of Letters and Arts AMLA), the International Academy of Brazilian Literature (AILB) and associated with the Brazilian Academy of Writers (ABRESC). I have the joy of managing the Instagram page @amoremversos.1, where I share my writings, bringing poetry and inspiration to readers.

Raul Hélio Feijão

RAUL HÉLIO FEIJÃO The academic was born in Groaíras-CE, where he lives; professor, lawyer, journalist and radio host, married to Cláudia Memória Feijão, father of poet Rauanny Memória Feijão. Graduated in law from Vale do Acaraú State University (UVA-CE) and specialist in Constitutional Law from the same institution. Vice-president of the Academia Groairense de Letras (AGL), where he occupies Chair number 25.

Reginaldo Ferreira Rodrigues

Born in Sobral-CE, he spent his childhood and adolescence at Fazenda Lagoa do Peixe, Groaíras-CE, in the home of his parents, Francisco Eriberto Rodrigues (in memorian) and Teresa Ferreira Lima. He was a seminarian, is a doctoral student in Philosophy at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), has a degree in Philosophy from UEVA and works as an effective professor of Applied Human and Social Sciences at the Monsenhor Linhares High School and Full-Time School, Groaíras-CE.

Renato César Aragão Mendes Júnior

The academic is from the district of Salgado dos Mendes, Forquilha, Ceará. He is the firstborn son of a farming couple. In 2015 and 2018, he completed his undergraduate and master's degree, respectively, both at Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú. In 2021, he takes over as a permanent teacher in the state education network of Ceará. He is a founding member of the Academia Forquilhense de Letras e Artes. The semi-arid backlands are my biggest inspiration.

Zuila Madeira Albuquerque Paixão

Born in Barra dos Melo – Forquilha-CE - on March 29, 1954, she is married and has a daughter. Education and Professional Training: Higher Education - Literature Course, Special Pedagogical Training Course and Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Sciences. Professional Experience: Portuguese Language Teacher. Length of Professional Experience: 37 years. She let her tendency towards Literature emerge when she chose the Literature Course and won a place at the Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA), having placed third on the list of successful candidates. In 2021, she joined the Academia Forquilhense de Letras e Artes (AFLA), occupying Chair number 04.

Alessandro Buarque Couto

Doctor in Law from the University of the Argentine Social Museum (UMSA), recognized by Estácio de Sá University. Post-Doctorate in Law from the University of the Argentine Social Museum (UMSA). He was a Professor at Higher Education Entities: 1) Faculdade de Aracaju (FACAR); 2) Tiradentes University (UNIT); 3) Faculty of Business of Sergipe (FANESE); 4) Postgraduate degree from FANESE; 5) Postgraduate degree from Faculdade Amadeus (FAMA); and 6) ACADEPOL/SE. Speaker at various legal events. Most importantly, Father of a beautiful daughter named Maria Clara.

Antonia Roza de Aguiar Menezes

Regis Luís Machado Melo

The writer was born in Groaíras on February 29, 1968. He is the youngest son of Francisco Albuquerque Melo and Margarida Machado Melo. He has been an effective teacher in the municipal public school system of Groaíras since 1997. He was director of Escola Nossa Senhora do Rosário from 2004 to 2013 and Escola Professora Noélia Ximenes Parente from 2014 to 2020.

Zumira Martins Melo

Municipal public teacher in Groaíras-CE from 1971/1975. Union advisor to the Rural Workers Union of Groaíras between 1976 and 1982. State public servant, typist, in the period 1982/1996, at the Monsenhor Linhares Elementary and Secondary Education School, when she left her duties, retiring in 2000. Duly qualified, she was invited to perform the role of School Secretary at the unit educational institution from which he retired, a role he held until he asked to leave.
