Synopsis

O objetivo deste livro é colaborar para ensinar você sobre a cidade de Teresina. Nossa intenção é mostrar que existe uma forma alternativa de ensinar uma cidade de convivência aos alunos e ao mesmo tempo, ajudar os professores em seus meios didáticos, que poderão utilizar dois princípios de raciocínio geográfico. Tenho em mente que, ao lidarmos com as desigualdades socioespaciais da cidade de Teresina, é possível estabelecer conexões geográficas com outras cidades.

Author Biographies

Bartira Araújo da Silva Viana, Universidade Federal do Piauí (UFPI)

PhD in Geography from IGC/UFMG. Master in Development and Environment from (TROPEN/UFPI). Specialist in Research for Geography Teaching and Graduate in Geography (UFPI). She is currently an effective professor at the Geography Course Coordination (UFPI). She is also Coordinator (2021-2025) and permanent professor of the Master's in Geography (PPGGEO/UFPI), has experience in Teaching Geography, Environmental Analysis, Geography of Industry and Services, Biogeography, Tourism Geography and Urban Geography. He is a member of the research groups: GERUR (UFPI), GEODUC/NUPEG (UFPI), GAAE (UFPI) and Cidade Processos Urbanos e Políticas Públicas (IFPI), linked to CNPq.

Mugiany Oliveira Brito Portela , Universidade Federal do Piauí (UFPI)

Graduated in Geography from the State University of Piauí (2000), with a master's degree in Development and Environment from the Federal University of Piauí (2005) and a PhD in Geography from the Federal University of Goiás. She is currently a professor of Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Geography from UFPI. Works with themes related to the teaching of Geography, cities and curriculum. Participates in research groups: GECEF, GAEE, NUPEG and NEPEG.

Roberto Célio Valadão , Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG)

Geographer from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), master and doctor in Geology from IGEO/UFBA. Since 1990, he has worked as a teacher in the Department of Geography at -UFMG, alongside undergraduate courses in Geography, Tourism and Geology. He is an accredited professor in the Postgraduate Program in Geography at this same institution, where he conducts extension and research projects and supervises master's and doctoral studies. The teacher's approach to themes linked to School Geography has enabled his professional-academic performance in apparently distinct areas, but which, once based on epistemic constructions specific to geographic science, prove to be complementary and feed each other, namely: Geosciences; Physical Geography - with emphasis on geomorphological studies on multiple spatio-temporal scales -; School Geography, the latter notably focused on recognizing and qualifying the conceptual network that feeds geographic reasoning in basic education. Coordinates the Study Group on Teaching and Research in Geography – GEPEGEO, at UFMG.

Daniel de Sousa Bueno

Graduated  in  Full  Degree  in  Geography  from  the  State  University  of  Piauí  (2021). He is currently studying for a master's degree in the Postgraduate Program in Geography at the Federal University of Piauí. Participates in the Center for Studies and Research in Education and the City - NUPEC. Scholarship holder linked to the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel – CAPES – for granting a master’s scholarship. Professor SEDUC – TO.

Ediléia Barbosa Reis

Master in Geography UFPI (2020) in the research line Regional and Geoenvironmental Studies and a FAPEPI/Capes Fellow. Specialist in Geography and Teaching - UESPI (2015). Degree in Geography - UESPI (2013). Technologist in Environmental Management - IFPI (2018). Has a Technical Course in Didactic Multimedia - ISEAF (2013). He is part of the GERUR and NECZPI research groups. He has experience in the areas of Geography Teaching, landscape analysis, organization of space and urban socio-environmental transformations and impacts. She is currently a Geography professor at the Federal Institute of Piauí-IFPI.

Gildênia Lima Monteiro

Master in Geography from the Federal University of Piauí (PPGGEO/UFPI). Specialist in Environmental Management and Education (NEAD - UESPI). Graduated in Geography from the State University of Piauí (UES-PI). She works as a Fellow Teacher in the National Basic Education Teacher Training Program (PARFOR) at the State University of Piauí (UESPI). Experience as a Geography Teacher in High School and in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) modality through the State Department of Education of Piauí (SEDUC - PI) in a rural school. She has experience as a Higher Education teacher at the State University of Maranhão (UEMA), where she taught classes in the Technologist in Environmental Management course.

Jackson Junio Paulino de Morais

PhD student in the Postgraduate Program in Geography at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, in the line of research: Production of space, ecology, politics, culture and education in Geography. Holds a master's degree in Geography from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2022). Graduated in Geography from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (2018). Develops, through the Study Group on Teaching and Research in Geography (GEPEGEO), extension activities for teacher training in Geography and research activities in teaching practices in Geography. He is currently a professor of basic education and at the Institute of Continuing Education at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC - Minas).

Leilson Alves dos Santos

PhD student in the Postgraduate Program in Geography at the Geosciences Institute of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, in the line of Physical Geography. Holds a master's degree in Analysis and Modeling of Environmental Systems IGC/UFMG (2018). Specialist in Environmental Management from the State University of Piauí (2014). Graduated in Geography from the Federal University of Piauí (2013). He was a substitute professor at the State University of Maranhão – Campus Caxias (20182022). He works mainly on the following topics: Geography Teaching, Environmental Management and Education, Environmental Analysis and Planning, Watersheds, Geomorphology Applied to Urban Planning. He is currently a tutor in the Geography course, distance learning, at the Federal University of Piauí (2017 - current), teaching subjects in specialization courses (Lato Sensu) in the area of ​​Environmental Sciences. He is a basic education teacher working in primary and secondary education in the public network of the State of Minas Gerais and at the Institute of Education, Science and Technology – IFMG/Ribeirão das Neves. He is a research member of the Geomorphology, Environmental Analysis and Education Research Group - GAAE/UFPI.

Nadja Rodrigues Carneira Vieira

Graduated in Geography from the University of Piauí (2015). Specialist in Teaching in Higher Education at Centro Universitário Santo Agostinho (2018). Master in Geography from the Federal University of Piauí (2023). He is a member of the GERUR research group (UFPI). He has experience in the area of ​​Human Geography, with an emphasis on Urban Geography. She is currently a teacher at the Municipal Network of Jaraguá do Sul-SC.

Roneide dos Santos Sousa

PhD in Geography from the Federal University of Ceará (2015-2019). Master's degree in Geography from the Federal University of Piauí (2013-2015). Degree in Geography from the Federal University of Piauí (2007-2011). Specialist in Geography, from the State University of Piauí (2011-2013). She is currently Assistant Professor I of the Geography Course (CGEO/CCHL) at the Federal University of Piauí. Member of the Research Group: Geomorphology, Environmental Analysis and Education (GAAE). She works as a teacher trainer for the Geography course at the Center for Open Distance Education (CEAD) at UFPI, in the area of ​​Physical Geography. Post-doctorate in progress at IFPI. He has experience in the area of ​​Physical Geography, with an emphasis on Geomorphology, Environmental Analysis and Geotechnology, working on the following topics: Geomorphology, Land Use Mapping, Coastal Zone, Hydrographic Basins, Environmental Fragility. Thiago Macedo Cunha

Graduated in Geography from the Federal University of Piauí (2020). Participated in RP (2018-2020) as a scholarship holder. He is currently a basic education teacher in the private network in Teresina – PI.

Vânia Vieira Lima

Master in Geography from the Federal University of Piauí - UFPI (2017 - 2019). Graduated with a Full Degree in Geography from the State University of Piauí - UESPI (2011 - 2014). He has experience in the area of ​​Human Geography, with an emphasis on Urban Geography. She currently works as a Geography teacher at the private school system in Teresina.
